Position: (Anti- Imperialist) Obviously Emilio was against the Annexation of the Philippians. This being obvious because he lead the Filipino insurrection against the new American rulers. He wanted the islands to be independent from everyone.

Reasons:
- Was deceived by the Americans and became enemies when He learned that Spain sold the islands to the Americans after they were denied a share of the victory at Manila.

- Wanted liberty and independence and self-determination (allowed by the constitution).

-Wanted to establish their own government.

-Wanted America to recognize the government and declare their independence.
